Bitcoin’s recovery remains uncertain as new ETF outflows add to increasing selling pressures that investors want to get back into a breakeven position. Recent buying activity for Bitcoin [BTC] is now being priced at below the cost basis of some recent buyers.
According to recent Glassnode data, buyers who acquired BTC six to twelve months ago will need to see prices reach approximately $88,000 before reaching their break-even point.

The buyers who purchased BTC over one to two years ago would need to see prices increase to approximately $99,500 before they could break even. Each group has been consistently selling into recent rallies, resulting in a lack of upward price momentum.
Glassnode reports that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have experienced net outflows totaling approximately $760 million since the 7th of October. This indicates a reversal of the strong inflows reported last month.

Their current cost basis is at approximately $81,500. This provides nearby support as long as prices continue to hold in this range. Realized losses among long-term holders of Bitcoin have declined 85% since late August when losses peaked.
As such, this suggests that there has been less forced selling. For a sustainable recovery in BTC prices to occur, it will require renewed interest in buying U.S. Bitcoin ETFs and a breakout above the breakeven level of $88,000.
Binance whale outflows top 15k BTC
While long-term sellers are putting downward pressure on Bitcoin due to recent price action from their breakeven points, other signs indicate potential shifts in supply dynamics among whales.
Daily outflows from the ten largest whales on Binance have increased from 6-8k BTC during the downturn in February to over 15,000 BTC recently. These increases occurred both throughout the summer’s low and subsequent rally.

Monthly averages of whale outflows have increased from 18,459 BTC in mid-August to almost 30,000 BTC. It appears that whales are becoming increasingly active in transferring coins off exchanges.
If these activities result in the transfer of coins off exchanges, then it could lead to lower volumes of exchange supply and decrease short-term selling pressures. However, simply having whales withdraw coins does not confirm that they are accumulating.
Meanwhile, whale withdrawals from Binance suggest large holders are moving coins off exchanges, and renewed ETF outflows reveal a competing source of selling pressure.
U.S. spot Bitcoin funds recorded $487.07 million in outflows on the 7th of October. Later on, there were further big withdrawals on the 8th and 14th of October.
This reversal pushed cumulative net inflows down to $56.96 billion by October 14, while total net assets fell to $104.83 billion.

ETF redemptions can return underlying Bitcoin to the market, potentially offsetting the supply removed by whale withdrawals. The balance between these flows will shape near-term price stability.
Unless private accumulation absorbs continued institutional selling, Bitcoin’s recovery could remain vulnerable to renewed downside pressure.
Final Summary
-
Bitcoin faces $88K breakeven resistance as $760 million in ETF outflows weaken demand.
-
BTC whale withdrawals exceed 15K BTC, but sustained accumulation must offset ETF selling to support recovery.
