Solana news: MoneyGram takes role validator role amid stablecoin payment push

MoneyGram said Monday it has become a validator on the Solana (SOL) blockchain, the latest step in the remittance firm’s ongoing push into crypto infrastructure as it builds payment services around stablecoins.

By operating a validator, MoneyGram will help process transactions and secure Solana’s proof-of-stake network, becoming a key part of the infrastructure that keeps the network running.

The company also joined Solana Developer Platform, an initiative aimed at helping institutions build financial products on the blockchain.

The move comes weeks after MoneyGram unveiled its MGUSD stablecoin on the Stellar blockchain, a sign of the company’s growing commitment to blockchain-based payments infrastructure. After spending several years integrating crypto into remittances and settlement, MoneyGram is now taking a more active role in the networks that support those services.

“MoneyGram has spent the past several years integrating blockchain into our payment infrastructure, and everything we are building now leverages this foundation,” CEO Anthony Soohoo said in a statement. “We believe the future of global money movement will be built on open, interoperable stablecoin rails that anyone, anywhere can access.”

Will JFrog (FROG) Gain From AI?

NZS Capital, LLC, an investment management company, released its “NZS Growth Equity Strategy” first-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The NZS Growth Equity strategy experienced a return of -8.75% (gross) and -8.91% (net) in Q1 2026, underperforming the -3.30% of the Morningstar Global Target Market Exposure Index. This decline was primarily due to weakness in growth stocks and a significant exposure to software. While the materials sector positively impacted absolute returns, the semiconductor sub-sector also showed strong contributions. Major detractors from absolute returns included Information Technology, Financials, and Healthcare. The overall market decline presented the firm with new investment opportunities amid rising uncertainty and inflation expectations. In addition, please check the Strategy’s top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026

In its first-quarter 2026 investor letter, NZS Capital highlighted stocks like JFrog Ltd. (NASDAQ:FROG). Incorporated in 2008, JFrog Ltd. (NASDAQ:FROG) is a technology company that provides a software supply chain platform to enable secure software delivery and management across teams. On June 18, 2026, JFrog Ltd. (NASDAQ:FROG) closed at $82.72 per share. One-month return of JFrog Ltd. (NASDAQ:FROG) was 12.78%, and its shares gained 105.13% over the past 52 weeks. JFrog Ltd. (NASDAQ:FROG) has a market capitalization of $10.11 billion.

NZS Capital stated the following regarding JFrog Ltd. (NASDAQ:FROG) in its Q1 2026 investor letter:

“The next largest bucket of software that we own has a consumption or take-rate based pricing model. For example, JFrog Ltd.’s (NASDAQ:FROG) binary artifactory is priced on the total amount of data storage and data transfer on its platform, which has seen dramatic growth due to the accelerated pace and volume of software being written by its customers enabled by vibe coding efficiencies. Snowflake and Cloudflare are optionality positions that also fit into this basket.”

Is JFrog Ltd. (FROG) the Unstoppable Growth Stock to Invest in Now?

I Build Land Rovers That Start at $339,000

I Build Land Rovers That Start at $339,000

This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Paul Potratz, founder of Helderburg and author of “A Gentleman’s Guide to an Intentional Life.” It has been edited for length and clarity.

Growing up, my dad was a mechanic. I liked spending time with him, but I didn’t enjoy being in the shop. I didn’t want to get dirty. I always dressed nicely and dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. Later, that’s how I hooked my wife: I made her clothes.

Despite our differences, my dad and I were extremely close. We loved to go on adventures together, spending time driving or hiking. We both adored everything British, especially British cars. My dad had a friend who was a Brit, and I was fascinated with everything about him, from the way he dressed and spoke to the Land Rover he drove.

My dad died in his 50s from congenital heart disease. When that happened, I realized I wanted to be an entrepreneur like him, not work for someone else. I founded a consulting firm and developed software. I had enough income to enjoy some wonderful adventures in luxury British Cars, and I started posting about them on social media under the name Helderburg to keep them private from my employees and customers at the consulting firm.

At first, I only customized for my own vehicles

During the pandemic, I had a health scare. Like my dad’s death, it made me question what I was doing. For a long time, I had been the first one into the office and the last one out, like my dad taught me. As long as my calendar was full, I felt like I was doing something worthwhile. But that’s not the life I want anymore, so I sold my businesses.

I started doing road trips and posting about them on social media. People were fascinated by how I had customized my trucks and began reaching out. Even if we had never met, I was crossing paths with people with similar interests and forming friendships. Then, people began asking if they could order a truck. That was the start of Helderburg as a business.

I’m working on a build inspired by a James Bond villain

Today I’ve done about 200 customized builds of vintage Land Rover Defenders. My Defender pricing starts at about $339,000, but some builds cost more than $600,000. Typically, it takes about a year to deliver a truck to the customer, but some have taken up to three years.

While we start with a vintage Land Rover, almost everything we put on the truck is custom. I even ask my customers for their measurements and weight, so that the seats, steering wheel, and gear shifter can all be customized to them.

The height and weight of drivers are taken into consideration when designing the cars.

Recently, a customer gave me a fun directive: “Make me a car the villain in a James Bond movie would drive.” I love that sort of approach that gives me so much creative freedom.

Now, we’re talking about features like electrified door handles that could shock anyone trying to get into the car uninvited, and a tack thrower to stop anyone in pursuit. I’m trying to talk him out of that last one, though — I just don’t think he’d use it.

I love playing with colors and creating connections

When customers reach out, my team does an initial screening, asking about what they’re looking for and why they want the truck. I decline the project if they talk about having it just as a status symbol or if they’re focused on performance and speed; we spend enough time hurtling down the highway of life.

I say yes to customers who are focused on making connections. One man had terminal cancer. We were able to rush his order, and he enjoyed driving with his wife for eight months before he died. His family will treasure those memories forever.

I get excited to work with customers who are open to interesting color and design, like this green and saddle-brown two-tone interior. It gets back to my childhood dream of being a fashion designer.

The brand is about slowing down and enjoying life

I spend so much time working with customers that by the time they fly out to pick up their Helderburg, they’re friends. They often stay at my home, where we go on trail rides together and prepare meals.

I’m 57, so people ask when I’m going to retire. But this is how I want to spend my time. I’m savoring this life, building cars and relationships.

The brand is about so much more than the nuts and bolts of a truck: it’s about having long conversations about what makes you happy, or driving out into nature with just your camera and your dog. It’s about slowing down and enjoying life — the truck is just the mascot.

PAG weighs restart on Nuvama Wealth stake sale – report

PAG weighs restart on Nuvama Wealth stake sale – report

Private equity firm PAG is assessing whether to restart a sale process for its controlling holding in Nuvama Wealth Management, formerly called Edelweiss Wealth Management, reported Moneycontrol citing sources.

Recent shareholding disclosures show PAG owns 54.13% of Nuvama Wealth Management through Asia Pragati Strategic Investment Fund and Pagac Ecstasy.

Last year, Bloomberg also reported that PAG is weighing options including a sale of its $1.2bn (Rs104.5bn) majority stake in Nuvama.

“PAG has been invested for more than 5 years and following an attempt last year which didn’t fructify into an eventual sale due to a valuation mismatch with PE suitors and other factors, it is now weighing an exit again. The market sentiment is better now, and it will be interesting to see how the valuations pan out this time,” one of the people said.

PAG invested about $325m to acquire control of Nuvama in March 2021.

“Nuvama is a high growth asset with profits of over Rs 1,000 crore. Soft approaches are understood to have been made by potential suitors though these deliberations are preliminary in nature. No final decision has been taken yet on the deal launch by PAG,” a second person said.

A third person said, “Based on early feedback from likely bidders, which may include PE firms as well as strategics, if PAG decides to proceed, then one can expect the formal sale process to kickstart in end July or early August. There are few large deals like this in the market so the transaction may garner significant interest.”

“If required, PAG has other options as well, including exploring an exit in tranches via multiple block deals,” a fourth person said.

The four people spoke to Moneycontrol on condition of anonymity.

As of Q4 FY26, Nuvama managed Rs 4.5tn ($47.8bn) in client assets and served clients including more than 13 lakh HNIs and over 4,750 families in India.

The company provides wealth management services including investment advisory, estate planning, investment management, lending and broking for individuals, institutions, CXOs, professional investors and family offices.

It is also active in alternative asset management products, asset services and capital markets.

“PAG weighs restart on Nuvama Wealth stake sale – report ” was originally created and published by Private Banker International, a GlobalData owned brand.

Ethereum whales bet on downside, but 73% traders are long – Who wins?

Ethereum whales bet on downside, but 73% traders are long – Who wins?

Ethereum remained stuck within a narrow range around $1.7k. While the altcoin consolidated over the past four days, it continued trading within a broader descending channel.

At press time, Ethereum [ETH] traded at $1,736 after a modest 0.08% daily gain. While the market stabilized near $1.7k, whales remained cautious and continued positioning for downside.

Why are whales betting against Ethereum?

As Ethereum’s structure remained weak, demand for short positions surged among large holders.

According to Onchain Lens, the whale “pension-usdt.eth” increased its 3x leveraged ETH short position to 50,000 ETH, worth $85.28 million. Despite limited price movement, the position was already sitting on more than $1.43 million in unrealized profit.

Another whale also opened a 23,000 ETH short position with 20x leverage, valued at $39.64 million. The trader later closed the position, locking in roughly $125,000 in profit.

The growing demand for short positions suggested that whales continued to expect another leg lower.

Even so, bearish bets faced mounting risks amid ongoing volatility.

Data from CoinGlass showed that $22 million worth of short positions were liquidated. That suggested the market continued to punish aggressive bearish positioning.

While whales leaned bearish, broader market positioning painted a different picture. The Long/Short Ratio climbed to 2.73. Around 73% of open positions were long, compared to 26% short.

That indicated most traders expected Ethereum to rebound despite recent weakness. This divergence left the market split between cautious whales and increasingly optimistic traders.

Can derivatives activity lift ETH?

Despite rising derivatives activity, Ethereum’s broader market structure remained weak. That suggested capital flowing into derivatives markets was still insufficient to drive a sustained breakout.

The Directional Movement Index (DMI) reflected a lack of strong momentum. The negative directional indicator remained dominant, while the ADX hovered near 5.

That combination suggested neither buyers nor sellers held a decisive advantage.

As a result, Ethereum may continue trading sideways between $1.6k and $1.7k in the near term.

However, stronger demand in derivatives markets could increase liquidation pressure on shorts. If that occurs, ETH may break above its current range, with $1,850 emerging as the next resistance level.

Geopolitical relief meets the Warsh Fed: Crypto Week Ahead

Geopolitical relief meets the Warsh Fed: Crypto Week Ahead

Digital assets are attempting to decouple from a complex macro environment following a dramatic sequence of central bank shifts, headlined by the Bank of Japan’s historic push to 1.0% interest rates and newly appointed Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s restructured FOMC policy framework.

Traders enter the week balancing an apparent drop in concerns over energy-driven inflation against a stark warning of tighter liquidity in the near-term.

While the official signing of the U.S.-Iran peace treaty provides relief by opening the Strait of Hormuz, it’s also stripped haven assets of their immediate momentum. Instead, capital is reorganizing around a heavy U.S. data cluster, with the market bracing for Thursday’s crucial Core PCE print to evaluate the trajectory of consumer inflation.

With the bitcoin price stabilizing above major psychological support at $64,000, the macro weight that pressed on digital assets for months may finally be dissipating.
