Pyth Network [PYTH] gained about 14% in the past day at press time, as capital kept building in the market. The gain was cuased by a combination of factors, including the asset’s performance in the Spot and Perpetual markets, as well as growing Staking activities.
The market activities, while showing a clear sign of growing bullish dominance in the market, have also had some level of bearish interest, as the liquidation gap between lost Capital remains a must-watch.

Here’s how PYTH crypto surged
The growth witnessed with PYTH can be tracked to the activities that have been happening in the Perpetual and Spot markets.
On the Perpetual side, the Open Interest (OI) Weighted Funding Rate has a reading of roughly 0.0056% on the chart. This metric tracks the capital balance in the market based on whether traders hold long or short positions.

When the reading is positive, as in this case, it confirms that the bulls are actively dominating in terms of positioning for the upside. Currently, the Perpetual market Open Interest surged over 10% to $57 million, according to CoinGlass.
The Spot market has also shown a mildly bullish position in the market, with a little over -$16,000 in Netflow at the time of writing. However, sustained profit-taking could still emerge if the rally extends further.
Staking activity reaches a yearly high
There has been a growing scale of Staking in the market that shows investors are locking their assets.
Staking is when investors lock their assets to earn a percentage from validator fees while also securing the network. The surge in staking often reflects growing confidence in investors’ expectations of the asset’s long-term performance.

At the moment, the staking amount has clawed back significantly, presently at $92.76 million, a level last reached on the 15th of January, 2026.
When the staking performance continues to grow, especially at this pace, it adds to the asset’s overall performance in the near term, as there is less of the asset circulating, especially as demand builds.
A narrow liquidation gap keeps bears in focus
The liquidation gap between the long and short remains ultimately slim, which puts the asset’s rally under question.
Long liquidations stood at roughly $54,810, while short liquidations totaled around $56,930. Typically, in a bullish market with an asset rallying, there are often more liquidated short positions than long positions.

Liquidated capital means the amount that has been lost to the market forcefully as price moves past traders’ stop-loss levels. With the gap between both long and short remaining slim, there is still a possibility that the short side is likely to flip the long side.
Overall, while investors are bullish, it’s important they exercise caution, especially as the capital balance can change easily.
Final Summary
-
PYTH gained 14% as Spot and Perpetual activity strengthened, with a positive Funding Rate and rising Open Interest supporting bullish positioning.
-
Rising staking supports PYTH as liquidations remain a risk, with staking reaching $92.76 million while the liquidation gap stays narrow.
